Description
These Strawberry Cream Puffs are made with golden, airy choux pastry filled with sweet whipped cream and fresh strawberries. They look fancy but are surprisingly simple—perfect for spring celebrations or an elegant dessert tray.
Ingredients
**Choux Pastry:**
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup water
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup all-purpose flour
4 large eggs
**Filling:**
1 cup heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a saucepan, combine butter, water, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.
3. Reduce heat and stir in flour all at once. Stir vigorously until a dough forms and pulls away from the sides.
4. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.
5. Beat in eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth and glossy.
6. Scoop or pipe dough into 12 mounds on prepared baking sheet.
7. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until golden and puffed. Cool completely.
8. Meanwhile, beat cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
9. Slice puffs in half horizontally. Fill with whipped cream and strawberry slices.
10. Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
Notes
Make sure the puffs are completely cool before filling or the cream will melt.
Puffs can be made ahead and frozen; fill just before serving.
Try flavored whipped cream for a fun twist—like lemon or almond.
