Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
8 slices bacon
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
3. Add green beans and blanch for 3–4 minutes until slightly tender.
4. Drain and transfer to ice water to stop cooking, then drain again.
5. Divide green beans into small bundles (about 6–8 beans per bundle).
6. Wrap each bundle with a slice of bacon and place seam-side down on a baking sheet.
7. In a small bowl mix melted butter, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt and black pepper.
8. Brush the mixture evenly over the bacon bundles.
9. Bake for 25–30 minutes until bacon is crispy and caramelized.
10. Serve warm as a flavorful side dish.
Notes
Use thin-cut bacon for best crispiness.
Do not overcook the green beans during blanching.
Add a drizzle of maple syrup for extra sweetness.
