Description
This garlic butter steak is seared to perfection and topped with a rich parmesan cream sauce. It’s indulgent, bold, and perfect for a romantic dinner or a restaurant-style treat at home.
Ingredients
**For the Steak**
2 ribeye or strip steaks (1–1.5 inches thick)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, smashed
Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)
**Parmesan Cream Sauce**
1 tbsp butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
3/4 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp black pepper
Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
Instructions
1. Take steaks out 30 minutes before cooking. Pat dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
2. Heat olive oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add steaks and sear 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
3. Add butter, smashed garlic, and herbs. Baste steak with butter as it finishes cooking. Remove from pan and let rest.
4. In a small saucepan, melt butter and sauté minced garlic for 30 seconds.
5. Stir in heavy cream and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
6. Add grated parmesan, black pepper, and nutmeg. Stir until smooth and creamy.
7. Slice rested steak and serve topped with warm parmesan cream sauce.
Notes
Letting steak rest before slicing keeps it juicy.
Use fresh grated parmesan—it melts better and adds real flavor.
Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies, or buttered pasta.
