This Sushi Bake Casserole is a delicious and easy Japanese-inspired dish made with layers of seasoned sushi rice, creamy seafood mixture, and flavorful toppings. Baked until warm and slightly golden, it’s perfect for sharing and served with nori sheets for a fun, interactive meal.

Ingredients

2 cups cooked sushi rice

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup imitation crab or cooked salmon, shredded

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/3 cup mayonnaise (Kewpie preferred)

1 tablespoon sriracha

1/2 teaspoon soy sauce

1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 tablespoon furikake seasoning

2 tablespoons chopped green onions

For serving:

Nori sheets

Extra sriracha or spicy mayo

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. In a bowl mix warm sushi rice with rice vinegar, sugar and salt.

3. Spread the seasoned rice evenly in a greased baking dish.

4. Sprinkle furikake seasoning over the rice layer.

5. In another bowl combine shredded crab or salmon, cream cheese, mayonnaise, sriracha and soy sauce.

6. Mix until creamy and well combined.

7. Spread the seafood mixture evenly over the rice.

8. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

9. Bake for 10–15 minutes until heated through and slightly golden.

10. Remove from oven and garnish with chopped green onions.

11. Serve warm with nori sheets and extra sriracha or spicy mayo.

Notes

Use Kewpie mayonnaise for authentic flavor.

Salmon or tuna can be used instead of imitation crab.

Serve by scooping onto nori sheets for a sushi-style bite.

Best enjoyed fresh and warm.
