Description
This Crockpot Salted Caramel Hot Fudge Sundae Cake is a self-saucing chocolate dessert made right in your slow cooker. With layers of rich cocoa cake, hot fudge sauce, and drizzled caramel, it’s warm, melty, and totally irresistible with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
**Cake Batter:**
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract
**Topping:**
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/4 cups hot water
**Caramel & Finish:**
1/4 cup salted caramel sauce
Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Flaky sea salt (optional)
Instructions
1. Spray the inside of your slow cooker with nonstick spray.
2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
3. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth. Spread batter in the slow cooker.
4. In another bowl, mix brown sugar and cocoa powder. Sprinkle evenly over the batter.
5. Carefully pour hot water over the top—**do not stir**.
6. Cover and cook on HIGH for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the top is set and the bottom is molten and saucy.
7. Drizzle caramel sauce over warm cake.
8. Serve spooned into bowls with vanilla ice cream and a pinch of sea salt if desired.
Notes
Don’t stir after adding water—this is what creates the gooey fudge layer!
Substitute caramel with peanut butter sauce or Nutella for variation.
Leftovers can be reheated in the microwave with extra caramel.
