Description

This Crispy Fried Goat Cheese with Tarragon and Honey is a gourmet appetizer featuring creamy goat cheese coated in a golden crispy crust, then drizzled with sweet honey and fresh herbs. It’s an elegant yet easy dish perfect for entertaining or special occasions.


Ingredients

8 oz goat cheese, sliced into rounds

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 egg, beaten

1 cup breadcrumbs (panko preferred)

1 teaspoon dried tarragon or 1 tablespoon fresh tarragon, chopped

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil for frying

2 tablespoons honey

Fresh herbs for garnish (optional)


Instructions

1. Slice goat cheese into thick rounds and place in the freezer for about 15–20 minutes to firm up.

2. Prepare three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten egg, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with tarragon, salt and black pepper.

3. Coat each goat cheese round in flour, then dip into the egg, then coat with breadcrumb mixture.

4. Repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating for a thicker crust.

5. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.

6. Fry the coated goat cheese rounds for about 1–2 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

7. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.

8. Drizzle warm honey over the crispy goat cheese.

9. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.


Notes

Freezing the goat cheese helps it hold shape أثناء القلي.

Use panko breadcrumbs for extra crispiness.
