Description

This creamy gluten-free tuna pasta bake is warm, comforting, and incredibly easy to make. Tender gluten-free pasta mixes with a rich, cheesy tuna sauce and bakes to golden perfection—perfect for busy nights or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

10 ounces gluten-free pasta (fusilli or penne)

2 cans tuna in water, drained

2 cups milk (or dairy-free alternative)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons gluten-free flour or cornstarch

1 small onion, finely diced

1 cup frozen peas (optional)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

1/3 cup gluten-free breadcrumbs (optional topping)

1 tablespoon olive oil (optional topping)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Cook gluten-free pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside.

3. In a saucepan, melt butter and sauté diced onion until soft.

4. Sprinkle gluten-free flour or cornstarch and whisk to form a roux.

5. Slowly whisk in milk and cook until thickened.

6. Stir in cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

7. Fold in tuna and peas (if using).

8. Combine cooked pasta with the sauce and mix well.

9. Transfer mixture to a baking dish.

10. Optional: Mix breadcrumbs with olive oil and sprinkle over the top.

11. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden and bubbly.

12. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use lactose-free cheese and milk for a fully dairy-free version.

Add mushrooms or spinach for extra veggies.

Gluten-free pasta absorbs sauce quickly—keep it slightly undercooked before baking.
