This classic banana bread is moist, tender, and full of rich banana flavor. Made with ripe bananas and simple pantry ingredients, it’s the perfect cozy bake for breakfast, snacks, or anytime you want a warm, comforting treat.
Ingredients
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/3 cup melted butter
1/2 cup sugar (white or brown)
1 large egg, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
2. In a large bowl, combine mashed bananas and melted butter.
3. Stir in sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla.
4. Sprinkle baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix gently.
5. Add flour and stir until just combined—do not overmix.
6. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
7. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
8. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
9. Allow to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.
Notes
Use extra ripe bananas (brown and spotty) for the best flavor.
For a richer loaf, replace sugar with brown sugar.
Banana bread freezes well for up to 3 months—wrap tightly.
