Description

These Crispy Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts are the perfect bite-sized appetizer with a crunchy center and savory, caramelized bacon exterior. Coated in a sweet and tangy sauce, they’re easy to make and always a crowd favorite for parties, holidays, or game day snacks.

Ingredients

2 cans whole water chestnuts, drained

12 slices bacon, cut in half

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup ketchup

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Toothpicks

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

2. Wrap each water chestnut with a half slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.

3. Place wrapped chestnuts on the prepared baking sheet.

4. In a bowl, mix brown sugar, ketchup, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper.

5. Brush or spoon the sauce evenly over each bacon-wrapped chestnut.

6. Bake for 25–30 minutes until bacon is crispy and caramelized.

7. For extra crispiness, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.

8. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Use thin-cut bacon for best crispiness.

Do not overcrowd the pan to ensure even cooking.

Turn halfway through baking for even browning if needed.

Serve warm for best flavor and texture.
