Ingredients
**For the Apple Cake:**
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups peeled, chopped apples (about 2 medium)
**For the Cream Cheese Frosting:**
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, oil, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
4. Stir dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in chopped apples.
5. Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
6. Bake for 35–40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
7. For the frosting, beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt; beat until fluffy.
8. Spread frosting over cooled cake and slice into squares to serve.
